Getting Started

The useful stuff to know before your first proper night on ST7D.

Which ST7D server should I join?+
If you want the easiest, builder-first experience, start with Buildtopia. Dystopia and Hysteria are the balanced middle ground. Noobtopia is the wildcard: broadly similar to the normal worlds, but with selected harder systems and surprises. Deliria is hard and Insomnia is the expert end. If you are undecided, use the Find Server tool.
Is Noobtopia the easy server?+
No. The name is deceptive. Noobtopia sits much closer to Dystopia and Hysteria overall, but mixes in selected harder ideas from Deliria and Insomnia. We treat it as the wildcard world, not the beginner world.
Do I need to download the ST7D mod pack manually?+
No manual mod-pack download is required for the normal ST7D connection process. Join the server and allow the server-side content to load. If you are having trouble connecting, use the connection details on the Servers page or ask for help in Discord.
Do new players get a starter kit?+
Yes. New survivors receive a starter kit when they begin. Check the note placed on your hotbar because it points you toward the useful first steps instead of leaving you to guess what half the custom systems are.
How big is the ST7D backpack?+
The current ST7D setup expands the player bag to 136 slots. The dropped backpack is expanded as well so the larger inventory can be represented properly after death.
Will I become encumbered with the 136-slot backpack?+
The current backpack configuration sets carry capacity to match the 136-slot bag, so filling the normal backpack does not create vanilla-style encumbrance penalties.
Do I lose XP progress when I die?+
No. ST7D is configured with no XP deficit on death. Dying can still be inconvenient in plenty of other ways, but the normal XP loss is not part of the network setup.
Where are the server IPs and live player counts?+
They are intentionally kept visible. The homepage, Servers page, individual server pages and Network Status page show live population and connection information. Individual server pages also display the current map when the live service provides it.
Where do I vote and claim the reward?+
Use /vote in-game or open the Vote page. After voting, log into the server where you want the reward and use /reward. Voting is once per day and the reward needs to be claimed on the same day.
Where should I look when I do not understand an ST7D system?+
Start here. The FAQ is the main knowledge hub for ST7D systems and common questions. The Commands page covers chat commands, the Mods page showcases the pack, the Rules page covers the limits, and Known Issues is reserved for active problems and workarounds. If none of those answer it, Discord is the human fallback.
STABLE + EXPERIMENTAL

Steam Versions & Backups

Keep a safe Stable build while experimenting with newer 7 Days to Die versions.

Can I keep Stable and Experimental 7 Days to Die at the same time?+
Yes. There are two useful approaches. Steam's backup tool gives you a safe copy you can restore when you want to roll back. If you want two independently launchable installs at the same time, use the manual duplication method below.
How do I back up my Stable 7 Days to Die installation with Steam?+
Use Steam's built-in game backup tool:
  1. Open Properties: In Steam, right-click 7 Days to Die, choose Properties, then open Installed Files.
  2. Create the backup: Choose Backup game files, browse to a folder with enough free space, then create the backup and wait for it to finish. Allow roughly 19 GB of free space.
  3. Update your main install: Go back to Properties and use Game Versions & Betas / Betas to select the current unstable or experimental build.

Your backup remains untouched while the main installation updates.

Does a Steam game backup include my saves and configs?+
No. This method backs up the game installation itself. It does not back up your save files, configuration files or cloud data. Treat those as separate data if you want your own additional backups.
How do I restore my Stable Steam backup?+
In Steam, open the top Games menu and choose Restore a backup.... Browse to the folder where you created the backup and follow Steam's prompts to restore the Stable installation.
How do I make a separate Stable copy that I can launch alongside Experimental?+
Use the manual duplication method:
  1. Find the install: In Steam, right-click 7 Days to DieManageBrowse Local Files.
  2. Duplicate the folder: Go up one folder so you can see the full Steam games list. Copy the entire 7 Days to Die folder and paste the copy somewhere suitable. Rename it to something clear, such as 7 Days to Die [STABLE].
  3. Add it to Steam: Use Add a GameAdd a Non-Steam Game, browse to the Stable copy and select 7DaysToDieLauncher.exe. Add it, then rename the Steam entry so it is obvious which build it launches.
  4. Switch the original: On the normal Steam copy, open PropertiesBetas and select the latest unstable/experimental build.
What do I end up with after the manual Stable/Experimental setup?+
You end up with two separate installs: 7 Days to Die can stay on the latest Experimental build, while 7 Days to Die [STABLE] remains your known Stable copy for ST7D or other Stable servers. If Stable itself changes later, refresh the copied installation using the same process.
SIX WORLDS

Servers & Difficulty

What changes between the six worlds and how to choose the right one.

What are the six server styles?+
Buildtopia: very easy and building friendly.
Noobtopia: wildcard, broadly normal with selected harder systems.
Dystopia: balanced normal ST7D experience and usually the busier half of the brother-and-sister pair.
Hysteria: Dystopia's sister server, aimed at the same kind of player but often with more breathing room.
Deliria: hard.
Insomnia: expert.
Do all six servers use different mods?+
The core mod collection is broadly the same across all ST7D worlds. What changes is the sandbox tuning: settings, rates, spawn choices, balance, difficulty and world configuration. That is why the same custom content can feel completely different on Buildtopia compared with Insomnia.
Is Buildtopia only for builders?+
Buildtopia is the most relaxed and builder-friendly world, but it is still a survival server. It is simply tuned to give players more breathing room for ambitious bases, shops and long-term projects.
What is the difference between Dystopia and Hysteria?+
They are the brother-and-sister normal-style servers. Both are aimed at players who already understand survival/base-building games and are comfortable with occasional difficulty. Dystopia is usually the busier world; Hysteria gives a very similar style of experience with more breathing room when populations are lower.
How hard are Deliria and Insomnia?+
Deliria is the hard world. Insomnia is the expert end and is intentionally far less forgiving. If you actively want the server to fight back, they are the places to look. If you are still learning ST7D's custom systems, one of the middle worlds will usually make more sense first.
Does the website know the current map?+
Yes. Where live map data is available, the site pulls the current map name automatically. We do not want static map text that becomes wrong after a wipe.
Are player counts on the website live?+
Yes. The site uses the ST7D live status service so server population, server state and current-map data can update without somebody manually editing the website.
Can I try another ST7D world if I picked the wrong one?+
Of course. Each world has its own identity and tuning, so trying another server is part of finding the version of ST7D that suits you. The Find Server tool can also recommend one based on what you actually enjoy.
When do ST7D servers wipe?+
ST7D servers wipe every 1,000 in-game days. The wipe takes place on or around Day 1000, depending on which real-world day the milestone lands on. This gives each world a long lifespan while still providing a proper fresh start when the cycle is complete.
Does each wipe get a new map?+
Yes. Every wipe introduces a brand-new map that has never previously been used on that server. A wipe is not just the same world being reset and handed back to you.
Can I take items with me to the next map?+
Transfer options are available if you want to take eligible items with you into the next map cycle. Check the current transfer information before a wipe because the process and available options matter.
200+ MODS

Mods & Custom Content

What the pack contains, how it is built and why ST7D feels different from vanilla.

Why do you say 200+ mods when there are fewer top-level mod folders?+
Because folder count no longer represents the real pack. ST7D has more than 200 mods and mod components across the full setup, but many smaller pieces have been merged into larger packages over time to make maintenance sane.
Who makes the ST7D custom content?+
A large part of the gameplay layer is built, maintained or heavily customised in-house by HS, founder and creator of ST7D. The pack also uses work from community creators we respect, and those creators remain credited where their work is used.
Do you credit other mod creators?+
Yes. ST7D uses original in-house work, collaborations and community-origin mods. If another creator's work forms the base of something, that creator remains credited. HS may then repair, update, alter or deeply integrate it for ST7D.
What kind of custom enemies are there?+
A lot. The current server files contain hundreds of enemy, boss, minion and variant definitions. The roster includes ST7D-built encounters alongside community-origin packs and heavily customised variants. Examples include The Witch, Sheriff, Doomlord, Druid, Executioner, Rockbreaker, Headless, Goreglide, Swarm Spitter, Blightnibble, Dreadwolf, Cryoclaw, RaeBean and Beakreaper.
What custom weapons and tools are there?+
There are in-house equipment lines, Ancient gear, high-end tools and deliberately ridiculous weapons. Examples include the Snowball Shredder, Cluck Launcher, Super Nailgun, Super Auger, Super Impact Driver, The Punisher, Rambo M60, Viper, Executioner and many more. The public Mods page is intentionally only a taste.
What is Forge OS?+
Forge OS is a custom ST7D workstation and crafting system. The current configuration contains more than 150 Forge OS recipe definitions, including custom ST7D recipes plus access paths for books, magazines and other progression-related crafting.
How big is the decoration system?+
Huge. The Deco Blocks work represents 5,000+ craftable items and variants, covering furniture, signs, containers, fences, plants, utility pieces, building parts, colour variants and a lot more.
What custom vehicles are on the servers?+
The current pack has a large server-side vehicle roster including flying and ground vehicles, plus the Flying Ford built by HS and the Whirligig by Arramus. There are also custom travel systems such as the ST7D Elevator and Quantum Elevator.
Why can I not find the normal vanilla drone?+
Vanilla drones are intentionally removed from the current ST7D setup, along with their normal cargo, medic, headlamp, armor and morale-mod progression. The network has its own storage, utility and vehicle systems instead.
Is the custom content server-side?+
A large amount of ST7D's gameplay layer is designed to work server-side so players can join without maintaining a matching manual mod folder. Some systems are custom integrations, DLL-backed server tools or XML content, but from the player's point of view the normal flow is: connect, let the server load what it needs, and play.
Can ST7D mods and balance change over time?+
Yes. ST7D is actively developed. Systems are repaired, tuned, expanded and occasionally replaced as the game changes or better ideas appear. That is part of why the network has grown so far beyond a static vanilla-plus setup.
BUILD & STORE

Building, Claims & Storage

Claims, base limits, storage safety and the custom building systems around them.

How many Land Claim Blocks can I use?+
Maximum 8 claims, with a 41-block radius and 14-day expiry. Claims are cleaned up regularly. Read the full Rules page before committing to something enormous.
Why did a Tier 4, Tier 5 or Tier 6 POI reject my Land Claim Block?+
That is intentional. The current Prefab Protector blocks Land Claim Blocks and Bedrolls inside high-tier quest zones. If you try to place a claim in a protected area, it is rejected and the Land Claim Block is returned to your inventory.
Can I build near traders or in reset zones?+
No. Do not build in reset zones or within 500m of traders. If you ignore that rule, support will not be given for the resulting loss.
What are the crafting station limits?+
Per player, server-wide: 5 Forges, 5 Dew Collectors, and 2 of every other station type. Placed, powered, unpowered and switched-off stations all count. Shared-base stations still count toward the rule.
What is the farm limit?+
Maximum 25x25, which is 625 crops. Do not split or cluster farms to bypass the limit.
How many turrets can I use?+
Limit turrets to 12 per player. Excessive lighting and power sources should also be avoided because performance matters on a heavily modded multiplayer server.
Are there player safes that cannot be picklocked?+
Yes. ST7D includes dedicated player wall, desk and gun safes, including multiple colour variants. The Safe Helper is specifically described as placing player safes that cannot be picklocked.
Can I upgrade beyond normal steel?+
Yes. Better Block Upgrades extends the building path beyond normal steel. Steel Polish upgrades steel into Reinforced Steel, then Titan Polish upgrades that into Titanium. These tiers are substantially tougher and more resistant to explosive damage than normal steel.
Why should I use containers instead of dropping items for another player?+
Dropped items can despawn quickly and are not replaced. For trades or temporary storage, put the items into a container instead of throwing them on the ground.
What building/QoL systems are in the mod pack?+
Examples include the Robotic Inbox, Working Blocks, player safes, Hydroponic Crop Stations, Better Block Upgrades, the ST7D Elevator, Quantum Elevator, the Auto Miner and more than 5,000 Deco Blocks craftable items and variants.
AUTOMATE IT

Automation & Workstations

The systems that move resources, grow crops, mine, craft and move you around the base.

What does the Robotic Inbox do?+
The Robotic Inbox automatically distributes resources placed inside it to nearby player storage containers when that resource already exists in the target container. It is designed to turn unloading into a much faster job instead of making you sort every stack by hand.
How does the Robotic Inbox decide which containers it can use?+
The current rules are deliberate: if the Inbox is locked, the target must also be locked and use the same password. If the Inbox is unlocked, the target must be unlocked. If the Inbox is inside a Land Claim, the target must be inside the same claim. Backpacks, vehicles and non-player-placed storage are ignored.
Why does my Robotic Inbox say it is damaged?+
The damaged version loses its secure sorting functionality until it is fixed. Repair it to restore normal Robotic Inbox behaviour.
How does the Quantum Elevator work?+
Place Quantum Elevator panels directly above or below one another so they are vertically aligned. Stand on a panel and press Jump to go up one floor or Crouch to go down one floor. The panels can connect across large vertical distances as long as a valid aligned panel is found.
What is the difference between Secure and Portable Quantum Elevator panels?+
Secure: can be locked or password protected, but cannot be picked up after placement.
Portable: can be picked up again, but cannot be locked and is not recommended where base security matters.
When does the Quantum Elevator unlock?+
The current progression entry unlocks the Secure and Portable Quantum Elevator panels at Electrician crafting level 60. They are crafted at the ST7D workstation.
What does the Advanced Auto Miner do?+
The Advanced Auto Miner converts fuel into resource bundles over time. An Iron Drill Bit is required at minimum for the machine to function, with better bits opening higher resource tiers and reducing craft time.
What do the Auto Miner drill bits change?+
The Iron Drill Bit is the required base tool. The Steel Drill Bit reduces Auto Miner craft time by about 11.1%. The Diamond Drill Bit reduces it by about 52.9%. The current system allows drill-bit effects to stack for a combined time reduction.
What can the Auto Miner produce?+
With the Iron Drill Bit it can produce bundles for sand, stone, coal, nitrate, lead, iron and clay. Steel-tier access adds brass, oil shale and polymers. Diamond-tier access adds gold, silver and raw diamonds.
How much fuel does an Auto Miner resource cycle use?+
The current resource recipes consume 10,000 gas per resource-bundle craft. The point is automated bulk production, not free resources.
How does the Hydroponic Crop Station work?+
It replaces manual planting and harvesting with automated crop crafts. The current description says it produces 10 crops per craft from 2 seeds, at slightly reduced yield compared with traditional farming. It requires ST7D Fertilizer and the Hydroponic Brains Of The Operation control item.
Why do my fueled workstations switch themselves off?+
That is the Fuel Saver doing its job. Fueled workstations are automatically shut down when the craft queue is empty and nothing is smelting, so they do not sit there burning fuel for no reason.
How much can Forge OS craft?+
The current Forge OS configuration contains 157 recipe definitions. It is one of the major hubs linking ST7D crafting, progression, custom gear and recipe access together.
Are the Working Blocks actually functional?+
Yes. The pack includes functional wall ovens, modern stoves, charcoal and gas grills, kitchen and commercial sinks, plus a large selection of working lamps, signs and lights. The working sinks can fill a stack of empty jars when used correctly.
CRAFT SMARTER

Resources, Crafting & Economy

Bundles, ammo recovery, Duke stacks, dyes and the custom materials that feed higher-tier crafting.

What are ST7D resource bundles?+
The current bundle pack defines dozens of compact resource bundles. Most represent 6,000 units of a resource and can be opened to unpack them, making bulk storage and high-volume crafting far easier to manage.
What can be stored as a resource bundle?+
Examples include gunpowder, brass, buckshot, bullet tips and casings, paper, cobblestone, cloth, concrete, forged steel and iron, gas, polymers, mechanical and electrical parts, duct tape, pipes, glue, leather, nails, oil, springs, bones, clay, sand, cement, flesh, meat, feathers and more.
Can I break ammunition back down?+
Yes. The current Ammo Disassembly system includes recipes for 7.62, 9mm and .44 ammunition in normal, AP and HP forms, plus shotgun shells and slugs. It supports both 100-round batches and ammo-box breakdowns.
What does the Brass Catcher do?+
The Brass Catcher is a weapon mod that gives a 25% chance to return a bullet casing when firing compatible weapons. It is deliberately blocked from shotguns, melee, archery and turret use.
What is a Duke Stack?+
A Duke Stack is a compressed bundle of 10,000 Duke's Casino Tokens. It can be opened back into Dukes and is also used directly by many custom ST7D recipes.
What is the Duke Stack Creation Station?+
The custom ATM-style station converts 10,000 Dukes into 1 Duke Stack. It exists because the ST7D economy and high-end recipe system regularly deal with amounts that would otherwise be awkward to carry and craft with.
What are Steel Polish and Titan Polish for?+
Steel Polish upgrades normal steel building shapes into Reinforced Steel. Titan Polish then upgrades Reinforced Steel into Titanium. The current upgrade path uses 10 Steel Polish for the first step and 5 Titan Polish for the Titanium step.
How big is the custom dye system?+
The current configuration contains roughly 178 custom dye modifiers and a dedicated ST7D Dye Station. The colour families go far beyond the basic palette, including metallic, neon, pastel, leather, military-style and many other variants.
How do I find what a strange ST7D item is used for?+
Use the in-game Recipes button on the item whenever it is available. Many ST7D tokens, shards, materials and special resources are deliberately connected to multiple recipe systems, so the item itself is often the fastest route to its uses.
What do the coloured blocks on the map mean?+
ST7D recolours several useful blocks on both the in-game map and the live map so important resources and utility blocks are easier to spot.

Zbucks & Server Shops

How the server currency works, how to earn it and how to use both the website and in-game shops.

What are Zbucks?+
Zbucks are ST7D's virtual server-shop currency. Each server has its own item store where you can spend the Zbucks you earn while playing or purchase additional Zbucks directly.
How do I earn Zbucks?+
You earn 3 Zbucks for every zombie you kill. All zombies count, so normal day-to-day killing steadily feeds back into your shop balance.
Do VIP members earn more Zbucks?+
Yes. VIP members receive a multiplier boost to Zbucks earnings. The higher the VIP tier, the stronger the multiplier. Current VIP tiers and supporter options are shown on the Donor Shop.
Can I purchase Zbucks directly?+
Yes. All members can purchase Zbucks directly. Check the current donation information for purchase options and any up-to-date instructions.
How do I check my Zbucks balance?+
Type $balance in in-game chat to see how many Zbucks you currently have.
How do I claim items bought from the website store?+
After purchasing from the website store, type $claim in in-game chat to receive the items. The store sends a maximum of 10 items at a time, so if everything does not arrive in the first claim, simply use $claim again until the order is complete.
How do I use the in-game Zbucks shop?+
Use these chat commands:
$shopView the available shop commands.
$shop1 / $shop2Browse the shop pages.
$shop buy <page> <item>Buy an item from a specific page.
EXAMPLE$shop buy 1 4

Buys item 4 from page 1.

Do shop commands have cooldowns?+
Yes. All shop commands have a cooldown. Do not spam them. Deliberate abuse can result in your shop access being removed.
KEEP GROWING

Progression & Bonus Skills

Long-term levels, extra skills and systems designed for players who stay beyond vanilla progression.

How much progression is there?+
ST7D supports 850 player levels and advertises 50+ extra skills, giving long-term players somewhere meaningful to keep spending points after vanilla progression would normally flatten out.
What kinds of Bonus Skills are there?+
The current Bonus Skills system contains more than 60 perk definitions across physical, mental, melee mastery, ranged mastery, luck and specialist paths. Examples include maximum health and stamina, damage resistance, mobility, crafting speed, weapon handling, reload, mining and tool mastery, stealth, harvesting, quest rewards and more.
Do some skills require very high player levels?+
Yes. The long-term mastery tracks deliberately keep unlocking deep into the level curve. Some rank requirements reach all the way toward the network's 850-level ceiling.
What does the Amphibious Bonus Skill do?+
Amphibious progressively extends underwater breathing time. The final rank grants full immunity to drowning, turning underwater exploration from a timer into a proper specialist build choice.
What is the Blood Moon Warrior skill?+
Blood Moon Warrior is one of the custom Bonus Skills built specifically around horde-night combat. It exists to reward players who want their progression to lean into Blood Moon survival instead of general-purpose bonuses.
What is Gamestage Overdrive?+
Gamestage Overdrive is exactly the kind of optional progression choice its name suggests: a path for players who want to push their gamestage higher and make the world scale more aggressively rather than simply becoming safer as they level.
What does the Daily Kill Tracker count?+
The current tracker records daily zombie kills, zombie-animal kills, normal animal kills, NPC kills, player kills and headshot kills. It is there to expose more of what you actually did during a session instead of reducing everything to one lifetime number.
Does dying reset any of this progression?+
No XP deficit is applied on death, so your level progression is not rolled backward. Individual custom quests, buffs or temporary effects can still have their own rules.
What is the ST7D Blood Moon kill quest?+
ST7D has a custom Blood Moon quest system that may be assigned randomly. Kills need to be made by hand or gun rather than traps/turrets. Required kills vary by server difficulty and the reward path includes Warrior Tokens. It is marked as work in progress, so occasional failures can happen.
What are ST7D in-game server ranks?+
Server Ranks are an ST7D progression system that begins the moment you join a server and advances automatically as your player level increases. Ranks provide permanent milestone bonuses at higher level bands, giving long-term levelling another purpose beyond normal perks and skills.
How do I see my current rank and bonuses?+
Press B in-game, then click your rank on the right-hand side of the screen. This opens the current rank buff so you can see exactly what that rank is doing for your character.
What are all the server ranks and bonuses?+

Crafting tier is governed by the Crafting Tier Master bonus skill. Open the Skills page and click the skull icon to view the ST7D Bonus Skills. If you do not level Crafting Tier Master, you will not be able to craft above Tier 1.
TOKENS & CHESTS

Loot, Tokens & Chests

The custom reward economy: voting, tokens, one-use chests and the strange body parts that feed it.

What custom loot systems are there?+
The pack includes Dream, Warrior, Fantasy and Dirty Money chests, supply drops, expanded zombie loot, Vote Tokens, Token Shards, Duke Stacks, Brains, Hearts, Golden Feathers, resource bundles and other reward systems. The questions below break the main systems down properly.
What are ST7D Vote Tokens used for?+
Vote Tokens are daily-support rewards used throughout the custom recipe ecosystem. After voting, claim them with /reward, then use the in-game Recipes button on the token to see the current craftable options.
How do daily vote rewards work?+
You can vote once per day. Use /vote, then log into your chosen server and use /reward on the same day. The current reward system can also include bonus Duke Stacks or Warrior Tokens, and consistent daily voting contributes toward an end-of-week Duke reward. Missed days do not stack.
What are ST7D Token Shards?+
Token Shards are created from Vote Tokens and act as another recipe currency. Use the Recipes button on the Shards to see what the current server configuration lets you exchange them for.
What can ST7D Brains be converted into?+
Brains feed several custom recipes. In the current token conversion recipes, 2 Brains can create 1 Warrior Token, while 1 Brain can create 2 Fantasy Tokens or 20 Dirty Money tokens. They are also ingredients in other high-end ST7D crafting.
What are ST7D Hearts for and where do they come from?+
Hearts are a high-end crafting material. They can appear from Dirty Money Chests and can also be obtained through the corpse/body-block crafting and harvesting ecosystem. They are used by several expensive automation, gear and special-item recipes.
What is a Dream Chest?+
A Dream Chest costs 100 Golden Feathers in the current recipe and gives four loot draws. Its reward pool is focused on powerful utility potions such as Bone Mending, Underwater O2, +100 Health and +100 Stamina.
What is a Warrior Chest?+
A Warrior Chest costs 1 Warrior Token and gives four loot draws. Its pool includes rare ores, a chance at treasure maps, Golden Feathers, custom foods/drinks and an extremely rare high-end reward.
What is a Fantasy Chest?+
A Fantasy Chest costs 1 Fantasy Token and gives four mixed loot draws. The current direct Fantasy Token recipe can also be made from 2 Duke Stacks, which represents 20,000 Dukes.
What is a Dirty Money Chest?+
The Dirty Money Chest costs 10 Dirty Money tokens. Its loot is deliberately grim: blood decoration, body bags, corpse/gore blocks and a chance to receive an ST7D Heart. It is part loot chest, part ingredient pipeline for the stranger end of the crafting system.
Why did my custom chest disappear after I opened it?+
That is intentional. Dream, Warrior, Fantasy and Dirty Money chests are configured as destroy on close. They are one-use reward containers, not permanent storage.
What are Golden Feathers used for?+
Golden Feathers are a rare custom currency/material that appears in reward systems and high-end recipes. One of their clearest uses is the Dream Chest, which currently costs 100 Golden Feathers.
What is the Necro Tap?+
The Necro Tap is a specialist gore-harvesting tool with a very long reach. It is designed to shred ST7D gore-tagged remains while doing essentially nothing useful to normal materials. Dirty Money content is one of the places where those gore blocks become relevant.
EAT, GROW, FISH

Food, Farming & Fishing

Custom survival food, automated crops, working water fixtures and the full fishing loop.

Is there more food and survival content?+
Yes. ST7D includes extra food and drinks, Bushcraft Bites, Enhanced Fishing, custom recipes, Hydroponic Farming, working water fixtures and special consumables such as the Mega Splint and Disillusionment Charm Brew. This section covers the parts players are most likely to actually use.
How do I fish on ST7D?+
Craft an Unbaited Fishing Rod at Forge OS, craft Fishing Bait at a Campfire or Working Oven, then combine the rod and bait in your inventory. Aim at water and right-click with the baited rod. A successful catch converts the rod into a loot box; open it for the catch and your unbaited rod is returned so you can bait it again.
Does fishing consume water blocks?+
Yes. The current fishing instructions say one water block is consumed per cast, so larger water sources support more casts than a tiny puddle.
What can I catch while fishing?+
The fishing system includes salmon, tuna and a rarer Golden Carp, along with fish scales and other possible loot. Golden Carp can be opened into raw Golden Carp and scales for further use.
What is the Message in a Bottle?+
It is one of the rarer fishing-related finds in the current loot setup. If one turns up, do not assume it is junk just because it arrived by bottle.
What is Bushcraft Bites?+
Bushcraft Bites adds a dedicated survival-cooking line with 15 custom foods/drinks. Examples include Tin Can Tucker, Feral Stew, Super Vegetable Stew, Acorn Bread, Pine Cone Jam, Acorn Coffee, Sweet Mead and Bone Broth.
Do the Bushcraft foods have special effects?+
Some do. The current recipes include effects such as infection reduction, while Super Vegetable Stew provides an XP boost. The survival-cooking line is meant to make scavenged and bushcraft ingredients matter beyond basic hunger.
What crops can the Hydroponic station make?+
The current Hydroponic recipes cover a broad vanilla crop set including aloe, blueberries, chrysanthemum, coffee, corn, cotton, goldenrod, super corn, hops, mushrooms, potatoes, yucca and pumpkin. It automates the crop cycle rather than requiring individual planting and harvesting.
How do the Working Sinks work?+
Equip a stack of empty jars in your toolbelt and left-click a Working Kitchen or Commercial Sink. The sink is designed to fill the stack, giving bases a much cleaner water-access workflow.
What is a Mega Splint?+
The Mega Splint instantly heals broken and sprained arms and legs. The /fixme command also exists as a player recovery tool and is documented on the Commands page.
What does the Disillusionment Charm Brew do?+
It makes you nearly undetectable for 5 minutes. You can slip past zombies and enemies much more easily, but getting too close can still let them catch your scent. It is stealth, not invulnerability.
GEAR & VEHICLES

Weapons, Gear & Vehicles

From Ancient relics to chicken launchers, super tools and custom rides.

What is the Snowball Shredder?+
It is one launcher with nine selectable snowball colours. Hold reload to choose which coloured snowball ammunition to fire. It exists because apparently normal bullets were not enough.
What is the Cluck Launcher?+
A high-velocity chicken launcher. The in-game description asks why the chicken crossed the wasteland. The answer is because you fired it from a launcher. Some questions are better left there.
What is Ancient gear?+
Ancient weapons, tools and ammunition are high-powered relics built around a risk mechanic: they are fragile. Their descriptions repeatedly warn that if durability reaches zero, the relic can crumble and be permanently lost.
How do I protect an Ancient weapon from being lost?+
Carry Ancient Repair Kits and repair the item before durability reaches zero. Ancient items are configured to use the dedicated repair kit and to break when their degradation is exhausted.
What is the Super Nailgun?+
The Super Nailgun is an in-house high-end building tool. Its current configuration repairs blocks at a massively increased rate, making it designed for serious base maintenance rather than ordinary early-game construction.
What other Super tools exist?+
The equipment pack includes high-end tools such as the Super Auger, Super Impact Driver and Super Machete alongside the Super Nailgun. They are tuned as late-game ST7D gear rather than simple renamed vanilla tools.
What sort of custom vehicles are there?+
The current server-side vehicle setup includes unusual ground and air options such as a Flyable Drone vehicle, Flying Van, Trike, Wheelchair Roller, Dragula Hotrod, Apocalypse SUV, Pickup, Semi Hauler, Death Rider, Ghoul Cruiser, Short Bus, Prepper's Truck, Ambulance, Work Truck, Fire Truck and Joke Blimp, plus the ST7D Flyers.
Who made the Flying Ford and Whirligig?+
The Flying Ford is original work by HS. The Whirligig is by Arramus. Both are part of the ST7D flyer lineup.
What does the Forge OS Prism do to a vehicle?+
The Prism is a vehicle-only Forge OS mod. Its current description boosts vehicle damage, acceleration, top speed and headlights, adds two passenger seats, removes fuel use and prevents vehicle self-damage while in use. It also warns not to combine it with other vehicle mods.
Is the normal ST7D Elevator the same as the Quantum Elevator?+
No. They are separate systems. The ST7D Elevator has its own placeable colour variants and is a more conventional custom elevator block. Quantum Elevator panels are the vertical teleport system with Secure and Portable versions.
What are the Forge OS Rune, Relic, Obsidian, Fragment and Signil?+
They are specialist Forge OS equipment mods. Rune enhances dark-area vision, Relic reduces explosion damage, Obsidian increases magazine size on applicable weapons, Fragment enables a veteran challenge where zombies require headshots to kill and hunt longer, and Signil negates block damage on a compatible weapon/tool.
THE THINGS HUNTING YOU

Enemies, Bosses & Debuffs

Why ST7D enemies do much more than walk toward you and swing.

How many custom enemies are in the current pack?+
The current enemy folders contain hundreds of entity definitions across bosses, minions, variants and special creatures. Not every definition is necessarily active in every world at the same time, but the scale is far beyond a handful of renamed zombies.
What are some ST7D enemy families?+
Examples include Beakreaper, Blightnibble, Cryoclaw variants, Dreadwolf, Goreglide, Titan Marlene, Titan Ken, Titan Walter, Titan Charles, RaeBean and minions, Rotclaw/Rotlet/Rotpaw, Swarm Spitter, Titan Cop, Titan Librarian, plus large MP, TM1, Dekkert, Arics and AEC-based encounter families.
What sort of AEC encounters are in the pack?+
The current AEC-derived folders include encounters such as Archer, Doomlord, Druid, Dumdum, Electric Demon, Executioner, Explosive Eagle, Ghost, Hammer Guardian, Headless, Mechanic, Mushroom, Rockbreaker, Running Kamikaze, Sheriff, Singerie, Siren Head and Witch, among others.
Why did my controls, aim or vision suddenly get messed with?+
Some custom enemies deliberately attack the player with status effects instead of only raw damage. Blindness, poor aim, degradation effects, elemental hazards and other disruption mechanics are part of certain encounters. If it happens during a custom boss fight, it may be the enemy doing exactly what it was designed to do.
What is Cryoclaw Subzero Snare?+
It is one of the custom elemental boss hazards used by Cryoclaw encounters. The Forge OS Cipher specifically lists Subzero Snare among the effects it can protect against.
What does the Forge OS Glyph protect against?+
Glyph is a foot-armor protection mod for physical boss debuffs. The current immunity list covers Walter's Rage, Ken's Rage and Charles Malediction.
What does the Forge OS Cipher protect against?+
Cipher is a foot-armor protection mod for elemental boss hazards. The current immunity list covers Burning Hazard, Radiation Pool and Cryoclaw Subzero Snare.
What does the Forge OS Signet protect against?+
Signet installs into chest armor and protects against several curse-style boss effects: Swine Flu, Rotlet Blindness, Librarian's Lunacy, and Marlene+ Poor Aim/Degrade. Its current description also notes that in multiplayer you should re-equip it after respawning to reactivate the immunity.
Do bosses spawn minions?+
Some do. The current enemy setup contains explicit minion entities and encounter families, including Druid animal/minion lines, RaeBean support entities, Swarm Spitter insect/bee support and other boss-specific companions.
Do custom enemies have custom loot?+
Yes, parts of the pack extend zombie and boss loot with ST7D resources and reward hooks. The exact drops vary by enemy and world tuning, so treat unusual materials such as Brains and other custom drops as recipe resources rather than vendor trash.
PLAYER TOOLS

Commands & Teleports

Quick answers live here. The Commands page remains the canonical list for every player, VIP and friend command.

Open Full Commands Guide
How do I see all commands on the server?+
Type /commands in-game. The website also has a full Commands Guide split into player, VIP and friend commands.
What does /died actually do?+
/died teleports you back to the location where you last died. It does not recover or move the death bag. Use it promptly because the saved death location is not meant to be permanent.
How do homes and waypoints work?+
Use /home and /waypoint or /wp to view and manage saved locations. The Commands Guide lists the save, delete and teleport formats.
Can I teleport to traders?+
Yes. Trader commands include /bob, /hugh, /jen, /joel and /rekt. There are also commands for the Lobby and Mining Hub.
How does /friend work?+
Type /friend to see online friends and their ID numbers. Use /friend # to request a teleport to that friend. The other player uses /accept. Requests last one minute and can also be affected by server-configured cost and nearby player/zombie checks.
What if I get stuck?+
Use /stuck if you are physically trapped. Other utility commands such as /soil, /fogoff and /fogon are documented on the Commands page.
What does /fixme do?+
/fixme applies the server's Mega Splint-style limb recovery for broken limbs. It is one of the utility commands intended to get players back into the game instead of leaving them stuck with an avoidable problem.
What does /pickup do?+
/pickup enables the server's pickup workflow for eligible blocks inside your claim. Follow the in-game instruction and use it only where you have the proper claim/control.
How do I check the next Blood Moon?+
Use /bloodmoon or /bm. /day7 is another Blood Moon timing command, although some functionality can be disabled on the harder worlds.
What does /gimme do?+
/gimme gives you a random item. It is exactly as controlled and sensible as that sounds.
SUPPORT ST7D

VIP, Donations & Support

Optional supporter perks, transfers and where to go when you need staff help.

Are donations required to play?+
No. Donations are optional. Supporters may receive items, perks, services or access while helping fund and develop the ST7D network. See the Donor Shop for the current options.
What does VIP include?+
VIP includes network perks plus tier-dependent bonuses such as server access coverage, buffs, chat styling, supporter items, Zbucks multipliers and higher-tier services. The exact current tiers are listed on the Donor Shop page.
How do I claim something after donating?+
Open a ticket in the ST7D Discord so staff can handle the claim one-to-one. A screenshot of the donation helps speed up the process.
Can I move my character/items to another ST7D server?+
Server transfer services are available in the Donor Shop. Follow the transfer instructions carefully, especially moving items to your inventory and removing installed equipment mods before staff process it.
Where do I report a problem?+
Use Discord for support. General questions can go in community chat, bugs/feedback should go to the relevant feedback area, and account, donation or private issues should be handled through a ticket.
DON'T BE AN ASSHAT

Rules & Community

Quick answers live here. The Rules page remains the canonical wording for server, building, performance and Discord rules.

Open Full Rules
What is the main rule?+
Do not be an asshat. Respect players and staff, do not harass people, do not cheat or exploit, and do not bring toxicity, racism, homophobic or transphobic remarks into the community. Full wording is on the Rules page.
What should I pick up before a server reboot?+
Always pick up turrets and vehicles before a reboot. Anything left out can be wiped and staff will not replace it.
Can I drop-mine or AFK mine?+
No. Drop mining is a bannable offence and AFK mining is not allowed.
Can I defend Blood Moons at the Lobby or Mining Hub?+
No. Those are community zones and must not be used as Blood Moon defence locations.
Why are container trades recommended?+
Dropped items can despawn and are not replaced. If you are giving something to another player, use a container rather than throwing valuable stacks on the floor.
Will staff replace items stolen from an unlocked base?+
Normally, no. Lock your base and containers and only give access to people you trust. Items stolen because a player was given access or because storage was left unsecured are not treated the same as losses caused by a confirmed exploit.
What are the Discord basics?+
Follow Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, keep swearing reasonable, do not spam caps, advertise, post harmful links, mini-mod, create drama or ignore staff decisions. Keep normal channels family-friendly. The Memes area is 18+.
Who are the staff?+
The current roster is on the Team page. Staff cards are clickable and custom bios are being added as the team provides them.
